The city is warning residents to prepare for heavy rainfall Thursday into Friday.
There are risks of localized flooding in Saint John as well as power outages due to the expected 30 to 60 mm of rain.
Fallen power lines or outages can be reported to Saint John Energy and any flooding can be reported to the city’s customer service centre.
The Saint John Emergency Measures Organization recommends having a 72-hour emergency kit prepped and ready.
Citizens are asked to reduce driving speeds and avoid driving through areas covered with water.
Caution is also advised around coastal areas.
