Jocelyn Stevens is seeking election to common council in Ward 2.
On her campaign’s Facebook page, Stevens said she wanted to bring her years of experience working with vulnerable populations to the council table.
She says she’s passionate and committed toward broader change, wants to bring value to the citizens of Saint John.
In a subsequent post, Stevens said women participating in politics is leading to ‘tangible gains for society,’ as more women step up to put their name forward.
She added that ‘Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire could do, only backwards and in high heels.’
Ward 2 includes the city’s north end and Millidgeville.
Voters head to the polls May 10.
