Nova Scotia remains concerned about the number of COVID-19 cases in New Brunswick.
Although the target reopening date of the Atlantic Bubble remains April 19, Nova Scotia Premier Iain Rankin says he continues to monitor New Brunswick on a daily basis.
“So far that outbreak has been contained to Edmundston and the surrounding communities so that’s why our advisory (for Nova Scotians to avoid travel to that region) is in place. We’ll make adjustments quickly if there are further developments with New Brunswick,” he said.
Rankin noted it’s possible Nova Scotia could open up a travel bubble with Newfoundland and Labrador sooner than with New Brunswick.
He added discussions are now underway with Newfoundland and Labrador given their recent low case counts.
