Saint John residents had the chance to help shape the future of the city’s waterfront on Thursday night.
More than 50 people took part in a virtual open discussion on Zoom hosted by Envision Saint John, the region’s growth agency.
Residents were able to provide input on public space at Loyalist Plaza and the extension of Harbour Passage around Fundy Quay.
The work is part of a $27.5-million project to redevelop Fundy Quay and renew some of the surrounding public space.
Participants talked about the importance of more year-round activities and more natural green elements.
They also stressed the need for increased access to and interaction with the water.
City staff said there will be more engagement opportunities as the project moves forward.
Those who were not able to take part in Thursday’s session can send their feedback to publicfeedback@saintjohn.ca.
