A recall has been issued for disposable masks often used in schools, daycares and health care settings.
Health Canada is advising people not to wear masks with graphene or biomass graphene because the masks contain toxic particles which could be dangerous if inhaled.
Factors like the design of a mask, how long it’s worn and the type of graphene material used would all affect your chances of inhaling those particles.
Health Canada is telling all provinces and territories to stop using them.
Anyone who has worn a graphene mask should seek medial attention if you have shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.
