Immunization is expected to ramp up during the spring and summer months.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says that in May, the country will start getting over 1-million doses of the Pfizer vaccine alone per week.
“What this all means is that by the end of June, we can expect to have received 44-million doses of the COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca,” Trudeau says.
Trudeau says the federal government is also extending Canadian Red Cross support for long-term care homes in Ontario until as late as September.
