One of 16 council candidates in the town of Saint Andrews has dropped out of the race.
Elections New Brunswick says Johanne Dugas has withdrawn from the campaign for “personal reasons.”
But Paul Harpelle, a spokesperson for Elections NB, said Wednesday that her name will remain on the ballot.
That is because Dugas withdrew from the race after the April 12 deadline and ballots have already been printed.
Harpelle said elections staff will inform residents when they arrive to vote and place a notice on the inside of the voting secrecy screen indicating that Dugas is no longer seeking a council seat.
Saint Andrews residents will elect six councillors on May 10.
