Elections New Brunswick is notifying residents to keep an eye on their mailboxes.
This week 550,000 voter information cards will be sent out, notifying New Brunswickers where and when they can vote, as well as what races they are eligible to vote on.
In addition to providing basic details, the cards will help create a smooth process when voters head to the polls.
“We strongly encourage electors to bring their cards with them to the polling station as this allows for faster service and reduces the likelihood of big lineups, which we want to prevent as much as possible during COVID-19,” said Kimberly Poffenroth, municipal electoral officer.
The information listed on voter cards will also be accessible through an Elections NB search engine.
Residents that do not receive a card but intend to vote will have to verify their information at a polling station.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, residents in Zone 4’s Edmundston-Madawaska area will not receive voter information cards until the province lifts the lockdown measures.
