Saint John police say a driver in the city’s north end was stopped by someone impersonating an officer.
On Tuesday, police say the driver was pulled over by what looked like an unmarked police vehicle.
But when the occupant approached, the driver didn’t believe they were an officer, and called the police force to confirm.
They said there was no officer in the area making a traffic stop at that time.
City police say residents are within their rights to question officers when they are pulled over, and if anything seems suspicious during a traffic stop to call the police force.
You can contact the force by phone at 506-648-3333 or 911.
