If you are in isolation due to COVID-19, and haven’t cast a ballot yet for the upcoming municipal elections, there are still options.
The Chief Electoral Officer for Elections NB Kim Poffenroth says they will gladly work with all of these individuals to determine the best way for them to vote.
“We will do our utmost to make sure every New Brunswicker is provided with the opportunity to vote, while at the same time respecting public health rules and protecting the thousands of people working for us during these elections,” says Poffenroth.
She adds you should reach out to your local returning office as soon as possible, because with the election less than a week away, time is running out.
Options that may be considered for people in isolation include voting by mail, where time permits, curbside voting, and other forms of contactless voting.
Poffenroth is also asking for patience and understanding, because election officials are doing their best during the unusual and challenging circumstances of this pandemic.
