Public Health confirmed six new cases of COVID-19 on Mother’s Day.
The cases are split across three health zones:
- 3 cases in Zone 1 (Moncton region)
- 1 case in Zone 2 (Saint John region)
- 2 cases in Zone 3 (Fredericton region)
The source of the three cases in Moncton and one of the Fredericton-area cases are under investigation.
Six more cases have recovered since Saturday, leaving the active case number at 141 for a second consecutive day.
Ten New Brunswickers are in hospital battling the virus, only seven of which are currently in the province. Two patients are currently in intensive care units.
The province has now injected more than 41 per cent of those aged 16 years or older with at least one dose of the vaccine.
According to the provincial dashboard, 302,262 doses have been administered, and more than 70,000 doses are in the province and ready to be distributed.
Case at KVHS
Public Health also confirmed a positive case at Kennebecasis Valley High School in Quispamsis.
The case was discovered Saturday and the school community was notified.
No classes were scheduled Monday and students are expected to return as usual on Tuesday morning.
Public exposures
The province also announced a number of potential public exposures Sunday, primarily in the Moncton and Fredericton regions.
In the Zone 1 Moncton area:
- Greco Pizza on Killam Drive in Moncton on Wednesday, May 5, between 5:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m., Monday, May 3, between 5:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m., and Sunday, May 2, between 5:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.
- Greco Pizza in Dieppe on Tuesday, May 4, between 4:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
- Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre emergency department on Friday, May 7, between 2:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., and Thursday, May 6, between 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m.
In the Zone 2 Saint John area:
- Foodland in Quispamsis on Monday, May 3, between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
In the Zone 3 Fredericton area:
- Lunar Rogue on King Street on Wednesday, April 28, between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
- Fix Auto in Hanwell on Thursday, May 6, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Friday, April 30, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Thursday, April 29, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and Wednesday, April 28, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
