A Moncton business has teamed up with an online multicultural marketplace organization, to provide support to families in India.
More than three million people have been infected by COVID-19 in that country and over 250,000 have died.
Sankara spokesperson Kyle Tomagan says they are working with Shikha and Raman Sobti, who own Sai Krishna in Greater Moncton.
They are running a Meal Box for a Cause fundraiser, “Co-Owner Raman Sobti, his mother and brother are actually inflicted with the COVID-19 variant in India right now, so it really hits close to home.”
Members of the public can make a purchase, “They will receive a meal box that contains five Indian meals. Not only do they receive good food, they’re also doing good as well because of the campaign. We’ll be donating proceeds of the sale to India.”
