Fredericton police say they found the body of a 38-year-old man in the Saint John River on Saturday morning.
In a news release, police said they received a call around 8:30 a.m. reporting a body found in the river near the 300-block of Lincoln Road.
Police identified the individual as a 38-year-old man who was reported missing on April 9, adding that an autopsy has been scheduled.
Investigators did not release the man’s name, but they had asked for the public’s help to locate 38-year-old Andrew Spencer on April 10.
Spencer had last been seen near the river in the 100 block of Woodstock Road the previous night, and police reported that he may have entered the river and not come out.
He was known to Fredericton residents for offering a poem in exchange for a penny.
