New Brunswick will take centre stage at this year’s Fundy FRINGE Festival in uptown Saint John.
The annual festival, which takes place in August, typically welcomes regional, national and even international artists.
But organizers are limiting submissions to New Brunswick artists only this year due to COVID-19 regulations.
“Given the uncertainty of the probability of an Atlantic bubble opening up this summer, we felt an NB only festival would be the most considerate option to the artists and planning teams at this time,” Drew Murdock, the festival’s director, said in a news release.
“We look forward to returning to a festival that welcomes regional, national, and even international artists once again for the 2022 Fundy FRINGE Festival.”
This year’s festival will feature live performances from local talent along with some streaming content.
New Brunswick artists can submit an application to be part of the 2021 festival by 11:59 p.m. on June 6. Selections will be made by lottery on June 8.
The 2021 edition of the Fundy FRINGE Festival takes place from Aug. 16 to 21.
