The province is banking on the continued popularity of the Explore NB Travel Incentive.
It will expand the program to include Atlantic Canada, potentially as soon as July 1st when the Atlantic Bubble is set to reopen.
Tourism Minister Tammy Scott-Wallace said improvements have been made to the process, including submissions being processed when they are received.
“Multiple claims will be permitted throughout the application period but still to a maximum of $1,000 in claims and a total of $200 in rebates,” Scott-Wallace said.
Eligible travel can take place between May 27th and October 31st. Applications for the rebate will be accepted between July 5th and November 30th.
Carole Alderdice of the Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick says the incentive program has been extremely well-received by both tourism operators and citizens.

Alderdice said the tourism industry was the hardest-hit in the pandemic and will take the longest to recover.
“The program was very successful and it brought in approximately $17 million to our industry and that is only what was claimed. Having the program for an additional two months and expanded to our Atlantic provinces will help even more,” Alderdice said.
