A person in their 70s in the Frederiction zone has died from COVID-19.
Sixteen new cases of the virus were announced in New Brunswick on Thursday.
That includes three new cases in the Moncton region, five cases in the Fredericton zone, and eight new cases in the Bathurst area.
Nine more people have recovered since Wednesday and the number of active cases stands at 146.
Five New Brunswickers are currently in the hospital: four in New Brunswick and one at a hospital in another province.
