Public Health is looking to make sure that every New Brunswicker that received a COVID-19 vaccine has been counted in the province’s data.
Residents of New Brunswick who have returned to the province and registered with the New Brunswick Travel Registration program will be contacted by Public Health to voluntarily complete a questionnaire confirming if they received a COVID-19 vaccine outside the province.
New Brunswick continues to push to get 75% of residents age 12 and older at least one dose of a vaccine by Monday.
According to the province’s COVID-19 dashboard, as of 1 p.m., Saturday 68.5 % of eligible New Brunswickers have received the first dose.
Public Health has reported nine new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.
The three cases in Zone 1 (Moncton region) are as follows:
- an individual 19 and under;
- an individual 50-59; and
- an individual 60-69.
Of these, one case is a contact of a previously confirmed case and two cases are under investigation.
The four cases in Zone 3 (Fredericton region) are as follows:
- two people 40-49;
- an individual 50-59; and
- an individual 70-79.
Of these, two cases are contacts of previously confirmed cases and two cases are under investigation.
The two cases in Zone 6 (Bathurst region) are as follows:
- an individual 20-29; and
- an individual 90 and over.
Both are contacts of a previous case
Since Friday, seven people have recovered from the virus as the province’s active case count rose to 149.
Five New Brunswickers are hospitalized, four are in the province, including one in an intensive care unit. One patient is in an intensive care unit outside the province.
A temporary outdoor, appointment-only COVID-19 testing clinic is available in Nackawic following recent possible public exposures.
The clinic located at the Nackawic Health Centre is operating from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday, June 6.
