Several schools in southern New Brunswick will be closing early Monday due to extreme temperatures.
Eleven schools in the Anglophone South School District will be dismissing students early.
St. Stephen Elementary, St. Stephen Middle, St. Stephen High, Milltown Elementary, and Lawrence Station Elementary schools will be closing for students at noon.
Sussex Elementary, Sussex Middle, Sussex Corner Elementary, Apohaqui Elementary, and Norton Elementary schools will be closing for students at 1 p.m., while students at Sussex Regional High School will be going home at 2:30 p.m.
All other schools in the district will be dismissed at their usual times.
In the Francophone South School District, students at École des Pionniers in Quispamsis will be going home two hours early. École Samuel-De Champlain will remain open for the rest of the day.
Some other school districts in the province have also made similar moves.
All schools in the Anglophone East School District will be closing early along with 64 of 69 schools in the Anglophone West School District.
