The RCMP have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection to shooting incidents in Northwestern New Brunswick.
Police now believe that there were two men in a vehicle that shot at Mounties.
The initial suspected identified by RCMP remains active.
25-year-old Stephen Perley, Jr., believed to be armed and dangerous, is described as 5’10” with a small build, brown hair and brown eyes.
On Saturday night, the Alert Ready issued for the Tobique Narrows, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock areas was ended .
While residents can now leave their homes, Mounties ask they remain vigilant as the search continues for the suspect in a shooting incident.
An increased police presence can be expected for the nearby regions as the RCMP will increase their patrols.
If sighted, Perley should not be approached, and instead, the public is asked to call 9-1-1.
On Friday, June 11, around 7:30 pm, Mounties responded to complaints of shots fired in Medford.
At 8:05 p.m. RCMP attempted to stop the individual involved on Route 105 in Tobique Narrows. The suspect shot at police, only striking a vehicle, leaving nobody injured.
An Alert Ready was issued at 9:29 pm, asking residents to lock doors, shelter in place, and stay away from windows.
On Saturday, June 12, RCMP discovered the vehicle Perley was reportedly using, a red, four-door Toyota Tacoma.
