How would you use up to $10,000 to improve part of uptown Saint John?
Historica Developments is teaming up with Envision Saint John to launch the $10K Urban Challenge.
“The idea was designed to create an engaging, inclusive and creative platform for residents to take part in the beautification of the Saint John region,” Margot Brideau, vice-president of Historica Developments, said in a news release.
“Partnering with Envision Saint John to bring this idea to life seemed like a natural fit, as the newly formed agency responsible for driving an innovative, regional approach to growth.”
Some of the ideas include a refurbished playground, a new mural or art installation, or public charging stations.
You or a group of friends can submit your proposal between now and July 5.
A panel of jury members will evaluate the proposals based on several criteria, including feasibility and community impact.
“We look forward to the creativity our residents will ultimately bring to the table. I think the hardest part for the jury will be narrowing it down to one proposal,” Paulette Hicks, CEO of Envision Saint John, said in the release.
The winning idea is set to be announced on July 21.
