Officials in New Brunswick have launched a review of the job classification for licensed practical nurses.
The review will look at whether the work of the province’s 2,000 LPNs remains a good fit within the current Patient Services group.
Finance and Treasury Board Minister Ernie Steeves, whose department is leading the review, said they recognize the work of LPNs has evolved significantly over the years.
“LPNs play an important role and contribute to our goal of having a dependable health-care system in the province. We want to ensure they are properly classified,” Steeves said in a news release.
The review is expected to be completed sometime before the end of September.
