The MLA at the centre of a blockade and protest on Highway 104 has been kicked out of the Tory caucus.
Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin issued an ultimatum to the premier on Tuesday in a wildly shared video on social media.
She demanded Iain Rankin reverse travel restrictions with New Brunswick or face a blockade at the border of the two provinces.
The blockade delayed traffic for most of the day yesterday and forced the Amherst hospital to scale back services as health care employees couldn’t get into work.
Progressive Conservative leader Tim Houston said in a statement Smith McCrossin will also be barred from running for the party in future elections.
Houston says she refused to acknowledge wrong doing and apologize.
