More details are now being released in connection with a reported incident at Regent Mall in Fredericton.
Fredericton police say at around 4 p.m. Saturday, they received reports of an altercation where it’s believed a firearm was seen.
The building was evacuated and the mall was secured along with help from the RCMP. Others who remained inside were directed to shelter in place.
Officers conducted a thorough search of the building, but they found no threat to public safety.
No one has been arrested and no one was hurt in the incident.
Police say they have identified persons of interest from the initial complaint and are continuing to investigate.

In a post on Twitter late Saturday evening, Regent Mall said it will be open on Sunday as normal.
