Some new support is available for organizations serving women, transgender, non-binary and Two-Spirit people.
The Canadian Women’s Foundation Vice President of Community Initiatives, Anuradha Dugal, says they’re offering grants of up to $20,000 to charities that are facing extra challenges because of the pandemic.
“We really want to offer a funding opportunity for gender justice and women’s organizations to get some flexible, year-long support for expenses they might have around all of the areas that the Foundation is interested in supporting,” which she explains includes violence prevention, economic development, empowering girls, and girls’ and women’s leadership.
Dugal says the Foundation especially wants to help charities serving people facing multiple types of barriers.
“We have a focus on women with disabilities, Black, Indigenous and racialized women, and women in rural, remote, and northern areas,” she says.
