A 28-year-old man was taken into custody in connection with a west side attempted carjacking.
The man is expected to face charges and appear in court sometime this week.
On June 29th, an elderly woman had parked at an unnamed shopping mall and while leaving her vehicle, a man with a weapon leaned in and tried to take it.
The woman refused, went into a nearby store and told security who called the police.
She was shaken up but not hurt.
New photos of the suspect were released by police a week ago.
The Saint John Police Force thanked the public for their tips on this crime saying their information made a difference.
