Federal, Provincial and Territorial Ministers Responsible for Social Services met this week to talk about improving collaboration to support persons with disabilities.
Topics included Bill C-35, the Canada Disability Benefit Act, and the Disability Inclusion Action Plan.
New Brunswick’s Minister of Social Development Bruce Fitch says he looks forward to working with all three levels of government on the proposed Canada disability benefit.
He adds it will compliment work currently being done on social assistance reform, and will help identify gaps and opportunities for services that better meet the needs of persons with disabilities.
The ministers plan to meet again before the end of 2021 to discuss further areas for collaboration.
