Good news for those looking to attend one of the Saint John Sea Dogs pre-season home games taking place in Fredericton.
Officials initially said that there would be reduced seating for the Aug. 19 and 25 games at UNB’s Aitken Centre due to COVID-19 restrictions.
But with those restrictions set to be lifted Friday night, the entire facility will now be open for all four home games.
“Be prepared to have someone sitting beside you. “That might be someone you don’t know, that hasn’t been part of your bubble or unit through the pandemic,” Nick Zildjan, marketing and special events manager with the UNB REDS, said in a news release.
Masks will still be required when entering and moving throughout the arena and while in your seat, except while consuming food or beverages.
The Sea Dogs will host Moncton on Aug. 19 and Sept. 10, Charlottetown on Aug. 25, and Bathurst on Sept. 18. Tickets went on sale Tuesday at the Aitken Centre box office and online at www.goredsgo.ca.
The team was in need of a temporary location for its pre-season games due to upcoming renovations at TD Station.
It is not the first time they have played in Fredericton. The Sea Dogs took on Cape Breton in a single pre-season game in Sept. 2019.
