The chairman and CEO of Moosehead Breweries are taking on new jobs on Friday — as delivery drivers.
On Friday the company’s chairman, Derek Oland, and CEO, Andrew Oland, will take on beer delivery duties in Saint John as a gesture of thanks to the hundreds of drivers who have worked so hard to support the Moosehead business.
“It’s impossible to overstate how critically important our drivers are to the Moosehead business. They are our gateway to our customers, and make it possible for us to take our beer from our brewery in Saint John to drinkers across North America,” said Andrew Oland in a release.
They’ll be doing deliveries in a neat set of wheels. The Olands will be making deliveries in a rare 1984 Peterbilt Model 359 truck that has been fully restored and clad in Moosehead branding by Pawel Obyrtacz, owner OBYR Transport Inc.
The father/son team will spend Friday, July 30 making deliveries to key customers in the Greater Saint John area. The truck will then be on-site at the Area 506 music festival (July 30 and 31) and the Moosehead Small Batch Brewery (August 1).
“We’re humbled to be able to make this small gesture to thank our drivers not only for their ongoing dedication but also for their resilience in overcoming an incredibly challenging period during the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Andrew.
“And we’re grateful to OBYR Transport for letting us participate in creating a one-of-a-kind truck, a truly tangible example of the deep relationships that exist between Moosehead and our delivery teams.”
