The green phase will be a boost to an already successful summer music series on the boardwalk on the Saint John waterfront.
Corey McGill, President of the North Market Wharf Cultural Association and owner of McGill’s Restaurant, says they’re happy to be heading into the green phase coming out of a very successful weekend that featured Maestro Fresh Wes.
“It’s been a great run this summer so far. We’ve showcased lots of incredible talent from all over southern N.B. Last week Wes rapped his original songs, told stories, played great music and entertained the crowd. The whole experience has been very successful, despite Covid restrictions,” said McGill.
“Thankfully, we are about to enter a new and much better stage for our series. We are very excited to be moving into post-Covid protocols on Friday at Midnight. This means for our New Brunswick Day Weekend Celebration, starting Saturday night, we will be able to bring in bigger bands and have more people out to see all the great talent lighting up the Market Square Boardwalk.”
The summer series has brought people down to the boardwalk and given a boost to restaurants and bars that are building their businesses back up coming out of the pandemic.
The green phase will allow for bigger bands and crowds, beginning Saturday night with The Harwoods. Sunday’s feature acts will be Nothing but a Necktie and The Hammond River Collective. On Monday, New Brunswick Day, the feature act is the Austin Eatman Band.
“Come have some fun on the Market Square Boardwalk this weekend and for the rest of the summer, while supporting the comeback of our New Brunswick artists and our local business community,” said McGill.
Updated schedules for performances throughout August can be found on The Boardwalk SJ Facebook page. The Made in New Brunswick Summer Series 2021 is hosted by Grannan’s, Lemon Grass, Pepper’s Pub, The Saint John Alehouse, McGill’s, and Market Square/ The Hardman Group.
