Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has called Canada’s 44th federal election. Trudeau says a federal election allows Canadians to decide who will guide the country out of the pandemic. Prime Minister Trudeau has stated that all federal employees must be fully vaccinated, as well anyone who wishes to run as a Liberal must also be fully vaccinated. He is not alone on vaccines being mandatory, some private businesses such as bars and restaurants and public gatherings such as concerts or spotting events also require those attending to be fully vaccinated.
On the other hand Opposition Leader Erin O’toole is opposed to mandatory vaccinations. He said that he and his party will encourage everyone who can to be vaccinated. The problem is encouragement doesn’t work that well.
A lot of us remember when we were told about the safety of wearing seatbelts and we were strongly encouraged to wear them, but most did not,now we all wear them because wearing a seatbelt is not encouraged it is the law.
No smoking in public places is no longer encouraged, it’s against the law and that is why you can’t smoke at your favourite bar, or store or anywhere there are other people.
You are not encouraged to have your children vaccinated before they start school, they have to be vaccinated against certain diseases sun as measles or they are not allowed to enter the school system
Mandatory vaccines are nothing new they have been with us for decades helping to eradicate such things as polio and small pox.
So will vaccines be the #1 ballot BOX question? I guess that’s up to us.
