The newly-elected Anglophone South District Education Council chose to defer the selection of a new chair and vice-chair at Wednesday night’s meeting.
Superintendent Zoe Watson said the last two District Education Councils did select a chair at the August meeting.
“The superintendent can chair up to two meetings so tonight was my first and then hopefully at the beginning of the September meeting they will be ready to select a chair and vice-chair,” Watson said.
Names can be submitted for the new chair and vice-chair of the Anglophone South District Education Council.
Should there be a tie, a vote would decide who fills those roles.
Five new members were elected to the DEC in the spring municipal elections.
Chairs have been selected for Anglophone North and West where their counterparts in Anglophone East and South chose to defer the decision until September.
