Plans for the new school year will be revealed on Friday.
It leaves teachers, students, and parents in a sort of limbo without direction on how to prepare.
Anglophone South School District superintendent Zoë Watson says she understands the frustration waiting for the plan but she also thinks we are in a “far better place than this time last year.”
“I do think it’s proactive that our department and Public Health are looking at measures to keep us safe. I think the frustration on the part of people is that it’s an ever-changing landscape,” Watson said.
When asked if the new school year might bring more freedoms compared to when students left in June, Watson said it was difficult to comment as they are waiting for the details to be revealed by Education Minister Dominic Cardy.
She said we are all very mindful as Dr. Jennifer Russell, the province’s chief medical health officer, said “COVID is still with us.”
Watson said meetings will be held next week with principals and vice-principals where they will get into the details of the back-to-school plan.
