Simonds Fire Rescue crews kept busy with a house fire in Garnett Settlement on Sunday night.
No one was hurt.
Fire Chief Brian Hunter said firefighters arrived just after 8 p.m. to find heavy smoke coming from the eaves of the home.
“No one was home at the time of the fire. With the help of Upham Fire Department and Kennebecasis Valley fire for water supply, the crew fought the fire well into the night,” Hunter said.
Hunter said one wall of the home was compromised and knocked in.
“The RCMP remained on scene and the Office of the Fire Marshal attended the scene this morning. The whole operated was terminated around 11 a.m. and turned over to the homeowner,” Hunter said.
There is no word yet a cause for the fire.
