New Brunswick will have several athletes and a coach representing Team Canada at the Paralympic Summer Games in Tokyo.
The province has two competitors in wheelchair basketball, Danielle DuPlessis of Fredericton and Colin Higgins of Rothesay.
From Moncton, Ryan Allen is coaching Danielle Dorris in swimming.
Kamylle Frenette of Dieppe will compete in the triathlon.
“It is so inspiring to see several athletes from New Brunswick competing in this year’s Paralympic Games,” said Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Tammy Scott-Wallace.
“They have each worked exceptionally hard to make it to this point in their career, and that is a huge accomplishment. New Brunswick will be cheering on each of these individuals and I wish them the very best in their events.”
Starting August 24 until September 5, the Paralympics – like the Olympics – were delayed a year due to the pandemic.
