There have been 37 recoveries since Friday for a total of 173 active cases. Three New Brunswickers are currently in the hospital with the virus.
Public Health says of the 340 confirmed cases reported since July 1, 74 per cent were not vaccinated, 15 per cent were partially vaccinated, and 11 per cent were fully vaccinated.
Dr. Cristin Muecke, the province’s deputy chief medical officer of health, is encouraging people to get vaccinated “as quickly as possible.”
“The risk is proven to be far lower when you are vaccinated. It protects you, the people you love and your community,” Muecke said in a news release.
“The virus is present in all areas of the province and you may not always be aware if you have been exposed. If you have symptoms you should assume you have COVID and get tested, especially if you are not fully vaccinated.”
You can find the list of potential public exposures to COVID-19 throughout the province online.
