Nearly three-in-four businesses in Greater Saint John say they do not support having a vaccine passport.
That is according to the results of a recent survey by the Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce.
Eighty-six per cent of respondents also indicated they would not ask their patrons for such a document.
“Businesses are concerned that further requirements will add to already overburdened staff, when the uncertainty over the legal ramifications are added in, businesses are left with a higher level of risk,” CEO David Duplisea said in a news release.
Duplisea noted that businesses do support having some type of vaccination proof for international travel and large gatherings.
Of the sectors identified in the results, most were from the retail, healthcare, hospitality and government sectors.
The chamber received nearly 1,100 responses to its online survey, which launched on Aug. 11.
