Cannabis NB has introduced a new addition to its retail model which will open up opportunities for local producers.
The program is called FarmGate and will allow licensed cannabis producers in New Brunswick to sell their own products at their locations.
“We are thrilled to launch this program in New Brunswick. There is growing interest from both consumers and producers for this type of initiative across the country and we believe this will create opportunities for the legal recreational cannabis industry,” said Lori Stickles, CEO of Cannabis NB.
“The Cannabis FarmGate program will increase visibility for local licensed producers, and provide them with more opportunities to educate customers about their products at their own facility, while also creating potential tourism opportunities.”
Eligible cannabis producers who want to participate must submit an application to Cannabis NB for consideration.
All cannabis products sold at an approved FarmGate location will be required to be grown, produced and packaged onsite and must meet all federal regulations from Health Canada (including packaging and labelling, excise stamps, social responsibility, testing requirements etc.).
