Saint John firefighters battled two structure fires throughout the city on Thursday.
Fire crews responded to a fire in Champlain Heights just before 4 p.m.
When firefighters arrived at 16 Fowler Drive, they found a lot of heat and smoke coming from the home.
According to the firefighters’ union, firefighters contained the fire to the basement but the home suffered significant damage.
There were no injuries as no one was home at the time. No word yet on a cause.
Shortly after, crews responded to Dunn Avenue on the west side after a fire destroyed a camper trailer and spread to a home.
The union said firefighters were able to quickly knock down the flames before they spread to the interior of the home.
