Envision Saint John, the region’s growth agency, has announced the new chair of its board of directors.
Al Walker will succeed Cynthia Goodwin, who was appointed as transition board chair in Sept. 2020.
“I am excited for the opportunity to continue to work with and help Envision Saint John as it begins to execute on a four-year strategy to bring new people and new investments to the region,” Walker said in a news release.
Walker has more than 25 years of experience and is a recognized leader in taxation and corporate finance, according to the agency.
The Hampton resident has held previous chair and board roles from several local, regional, and national organizations and commissions.
CEO Paulette Hicks thanked Goodwin for her contributions to the agency over the past year.
“The past 12 months have been a heavy lift for our Board of Directors and with Cynthia’s leadership, the Agency has the necessary foundation and is well positioned to attract people, tourists, investment and business to the region,” Hicks said in the release,
Envision Saint John represents Saint John, Quispamsis, Rothesay, Grand Bay-Westfield, Hampton, and St. Martins.
