Public Health reported 16 new cases of COVID-19 and 29 more recoveries in New Brunswick on Wednesday.
New Brunswick now has 115 active cases of the virus. Five people are in the hospital, including four in intensive care.
A day earlier, there were people in the hospital due to the virus, with three in an intensive care unit.
The new cases announced Wednesday were spread across six of the province’s seven health zones, with the exception of the Saint John region.
There are six cases in the Moncton health region, three in the Fredericton area, and one in the Edmundston zone.
The Campbellton, Bathurst, and Miramichi health zones each reported two new cases.
Five of the new cases are contacts of previously confirmed cases, two are travel-related, and the remaining nine are under investigation.
Meanwhile, 76.3 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and 85.2 per cent have received their first dose of a vaccine.
