Voters across Canada will head to the polls on Sept. 20 to elect their next member of Parliament.
Five people have put their names forward to become the next representative for the riding of New Brunswick Southwest.
They include Green Party candidate John Reist, Conservative candidate John Williamson, NDP candidate Richard Warren, and People’s Party of Canada candidate Meryl Sarty.
We offered Liberal candidate Jason Hickey the chance to take part but he declined.
We asked each of the participating candidates a series of questions on several topics, including:
- What would you do to help address the shortage of nurses and physicians in New Brunswick?
- How would you aid Canadian businesses that have struggled as a result of the pandemic?
- What would you do to help middle-class Canadians and those who are struggling to get ahead?
- How would you help deal with the affordable housing problem in New Brunswick?
- What would you and your party do to help address climate change?
Here are the full candidate interviews, in alphabetical order by their last name.
