It appears the pandemic did not stop voters from casting their ballots in the federal election.
Elections Canada says nearly 17 million Canadians voted, which is about 62 per cent of eligible voters.
Voter turnout was 67 per cent in 2019 and 68 per cent in 2015, so this year was about average.
There were fewer polling stations and workers due to the pandemic, and some people waited in long lineups to vote.
A record number of Canadians — about 850,000 — voted by mail.
