Power has been restored to tens of thousands of homes and businesses across southern New Brunswick.
NB Power was reporting more than 22,000 customers without electricity in Saint John and Kings counties.
But as of 11:10 a.m., that number was down to 14 customers in Quispamsis, Hampton and Rothesay.
The estimated restoration time for the remaining customers is between 1:30 and 3 p.m. Saturday, according to the utility’s website.
At one point, the outage extended from Mispec to Bay View and up to Bloomfield, and also included parts of the Kingston Peninsula.
“The cause still needs to be investigated at this time,” Dominique Couture, a spokesperson for NB Power, said in an email.
Meanwhile, Saint John Energy said 6,100 of its customers were also impacted due to a “loss of supply from NB Power,” according to spokesperson Jessica DeLong.
Power was restored to all customers within 45 minutes, said DeLong.
UPDATE: It appears power has been restored to the majority of customers in the Greater Saint John region.
NB Power says about 20 customers remain without power in Garnett Settlement, Hampton, Salt Springs, and Willow Grove. ETA is 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
