New Brunswick’s Regional Health Authorities have temporarily suspended visits to all hospitals.
In separate news releases issued on Thursday afternoon, Horizon Health Network and Vitalité Health Network stated the suspension is due to COVID-19.
“Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic our guidelines have limited the risk of COVID-19 in our facilities. Horizon stated these measures are effective Friday, Oct. 8 and also applies to their “health care facilities”, while Vitalité said the measures begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8.
Both health authorities stated exceptions will be made for certain visitors, including a designated support person. Requirements for these individuals, including being asymptomatic, taking part in a screening and wearing a mask.
