A 32-year-old man is due before a judge on Friday after police were called Thursday night about a man pointing a shotgun at a home in the South end.
Police responded to a 911 call around 7:21 p.m. on Thursday night.
Officers from the patrol division arrested a man for firearms-related offences.
A shotgun and ammunition were later found.
Investigators with the Major Crime Unit want to hear from anyone who may have video of the incident.
Meanwhile, Saint John Police Officers arrested a 33-year-old man in the wee hours of Friday morning after a disturbance call to a home on the east side.
Officers responded to a 911 call at 3:10 a.m. and were looking into the complaint when a man returned to the home in a truck.
They found a long gun and ammunition in his possession.
He was arrested for firearm-related offences and breach of a court order to have no contact with the people living in the home.
He was held in custody with a scheduled court date on Friday.
