The City of Saint John is developing a new strategic plan for the City Market that will support its operations and development.
As part of the process, a City Market Strategic Plan Steering Committee is being created through an open public nomination process.
The steering committee will play a major role in the development of the new 10-year plan for the Saint John City Market.
Key responsibilities for this committee include setting vision, goals, and objectives for the market, as well as making important decisions regarding the market based on stakeholder engagement.
This committee will advise the city’s Growth Committee on the strategic plan and act as ambassadors within the community.
The city is seeking four nominations from the public to serve in a volunteer capacity. The following characteristics are particularly relevant to the committee:
- a resident of Saint John.
- a regular customer of the City Market.
- a working experience in marketing, business, entrepreneurship, facility management, legal, historical knowledge of the city and/or Market, accounting, tourism, hospitality, planning, or economic development.
Anyone interested in serving on the City Market Strategic Plan Steering Committee can submit an online application through the city’s website. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, Oct. 20.
