New Brunswick Health officials announced five COVID-19-related deaths on Wednesday.
With deaths in the Campbellton region, the Moncton region, the Bathurst region and the Edmundston region, there have now been 99 deaths related to the virus in New Brunswick.
Public Health reported 69 new cases of COVID-19 today.
“Of the new cases, 35 – or 51%– are unvaccinated, four – or 6% – are partially vaccinated, and 30 – or 43% – are fully vaccinated,” states a provincial new release.
Following 77 recoveries since Tuesday, the active caseload falls to 761.
New Brunswick currently has 55 people in a hospital fighting COVID-19, including 27 unvaccinated people, four people who are partially vaccinated and 24 people who are fully vaccinated.
The province says two individuals in the hospital are in the 19 and under age group.
The majority of intensive care admissions continue to consist of unvaccinated individuals. Of the 16 currently in an ICU, 14 are unvaccinated, one is partially vaccinated and one is fully vaccinated.
As of today, 82.9% of eligible New Brunswickers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and 91.8% have received their first dose of a vaccine.
Outbreak management
According to the province, members of the Provincial Rapid Outbreak Management Team (PROMPT) are assisting at 23 locations. Of these locations, outbreaks have been declared at 11.

• The Crossing in Saint John (Zone 2)
• Maison du Bonheur in Edmundston (Zone 4)
• Foyer la Renaissance in Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska (Zone 4)
• Agence Résidentielle Restigouche in Campbellton (Zone 5)
• Dalhousie Nursing Home (Villa Renaissance) in Dalhousie (Zone 5)
• Losier Hall in Miramichi (Zone 7)
