Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has named two New Brunswick Members of Parliament to his cabinet.
Dominic LeBlanc, the representative for Beauséjour, has been named the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Infrastructure and Communities.
LeBlanc will no longer serve as the President of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada.
Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Member of Parliament for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe, is back in cabinet as Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
Petitpas Taylor previously served as Minister of Health but found herself outside of cabinet after the 2019 federal election.
As the minister of ACOA, Petitpas Taylor is the first Atlantic Canadian MP to hold the role since Trudeau was elected in 2015.
The new cabinet will feature six representatives from Atlantic Canada.
