Police say criminality has been ruled out after a man’s body was found near Mayfield, northwest of St. Stephen.
Officials received a call Saturday afternoon from a property owner who found a body in a wooded area near Route 735.
Investigators said Wednesday that they have not yet been able to confirm the identity of the body.
But they said it was found in an “area of interest” in the disappearance of Luke Cunningham from Mayfield.
The 39-year-old man was last seen walking northbound on Route 735 near Barter Settlement Road on Sept. 4.
