Emergency services responded to a woman in distress on the Haymarket Square overpass on Crown Street.
The Saint John Police Force received the call on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at approximately 6:28 p.m.
When officers arrived, they noticed a woman was on the wrong side of the railing and in danger of falling.
Officers, Paramedics, and several residents secured the woman.
The Saint John Fire Department also arrived on the scene and used its ladder truck to assist in lifting the woman of safety.
The police service sends its gratitude to those residents who assisted with ensuring the woman was brought to safety.
